Teach Soap

Do some stick blenders work better than others? When I started making soap a year ago I bought a Hamilton Beach blender for $20.00 at Walmart. I had never used a stick blender before. I sometimes have tiny white spots in my soap that I have determined are air bubbles. I think maybe the problem is my stick blender. I would like to try a different one and am wondering what other soapers use. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

I started with a cheapo plastic shaft SB that lasted me a year and worked perfectly. Then I bought a Hamilton Beach and it was horrible - there were always bubbles in my batter! I now have a Cuisinart Smart Stick and love it!

Thanks Shanon and Linda. I am going to get a Cuisinart blender. Luckily they seem to be widely available.

If you don't care about color, you can pick up one in an outgoing color for less at Bed, Bath & Beyond when the season changes. Sorry, I forgot how much off but I think it was ~ 20%.

Yeah! I got my new Cuisinart Smart Stick today. Kohls had them on sale plus I had a 20% off coupon and $5.00 in Kohls cash. Final price was $27.00 including sales tax. I don't think I could have done better on the internet. It's a beautiful turquoise color. I will be making soap as soon as my grandson goes home tomorrow evening. Life is good, my grandson for 2 days and then making soap.
