I am planning to sell at a craft show in the coming months. I might be "new-fashioned"....because I understand e-commerce and making a sale online or how people use their phones to accept payments....but how about in person? I know that sounds probably a little silly and I'm probably over-thinking it, but I'm curious to know how other soap biz people handle their transactions in person? However you do it, I'm all ears/eyes. What do you do for receipts?

And in person, I mean, apart from using your phone.....do you have a way of scanning items or do you just add them up manually? Handwritten receipts, or do you print them? Etc....just would like to know what you all do.

I use Square Up on my iphone for in person sales. I use Word docs for my inventory and sales. I don't give out handwritten receipts unless requested. For my online sales I do print out an invoice. You can get a UPC code, but then you would need the scanner and those can get pricey. Some people use QuickBooks or FreshBooks and add everything manually.

I have square and also the new paypal reader for in person phone scans, both will send receipts for you if the customer wants one to their email. If requested I will hand write one and always keep a receipt book for that and for custom orders. I also use word docs. for packing slips and inventory and quickbooks for the checkbook.

I use squareup and you can easily use it for cash transactions as well as credit transactions. If a customer wants a receipt you enter a cash transaction and email or text the receipt to them-the same as if you were running a credit card.
