I know there has been a bunch of talk about Lush, but I had never seen their products until a few days ago. I was in an area I don't usually travel to and had some time to kill so I walked around a mall that was in the area. There was a Lush store so I went in, mostly because I wanted to see if their products were junk or if they might be (gasp) better than mine!
It was a tiny store, but I sniffed around and talked with the sales people. I didn't mention that I make soap. I asked about the shampoo bars, after seeing lots of posts here I've been curious about trying one, and they lathered my arm with one to show how nice it is, lol. It was a bit awkward.
But when I mentioned that I have to use sulfate free shampoo, the sales girl told me that unfortunately the shampoo bars do contain sulfates. Bonus points that she knows about her products, that was unexpected! She showed me a conditioner bar instead, and though I had my doubts about rubbing it on my hair in the store, I bought one to try. I also bought a piece of soap because I liked the fragrance.
I have to say the conditioner bar is non-greasy, but it's sort of nice. Sort of. I still have to use my regular conditioner but I can use the bar on my ends as a leave in. At first I wasn't impressed with the soap, it seemed like a bar of melt and pour. But after using it I have to admit it did feel pretty nice, and it didn't seem to dry my skin. However, I still like my CP soaps better.
So, all in all, I don't think it's too bad, I'm actually a little jealous that they've had so much success! When did these stores come about? Anyone know how long they've been around?
