Teach Soap

I'm pretty sure everyone here on the forums has taken over some part of their house/condo/apartment for soaping! With Phil and I moving I was hoping to get an idea of what kind of space to look at! Plus it'll be fun listening to the fun area everyone took over! So let's talk about our beloved soap rooms

My workshop was a spare room that the last owner had converted into a laundry room, then into an office just before she sold the house. It was a MESS to get cleaned up, her handyman was clearly not very handy (horrid wall patches, and we've no idea what he used to adhere the carpet and linoleum, something sticky and waxy). But we gutted it, painted it a pretty light, but bright, aqua, added in some kitchen cupboards and a bar sink and lots of storage! I even have a door to the backyard with a tiny 4 X 4 deck for a chair where I can sit and read while my lye water cools! Means less room for storage though LOL, same with the 2 windows.

I'll be doing a video tour of it soon, I hope. Still trying to get my husband to cut the last 2 4" pieces of baseboard, hang the last blind, and cut the last 4 1" tiles for my backsplash. But I've been waiting, uh, almost a year now I think. Soon I HOPE!

Hestey I am so jealous! So far with our search I'm stuck either in a small kitchen or a one window room that would make a better closet!

But I love the aqua paint idea! I was thinking about what color I'd paint my soap room... Because I have my priorities in line.

I'm using a downstairs kitchen that is part of a "mother-in-law" apartment. We've decided to pull out the cabinets and replace everything with stainless tables, put in shelves above the workspace, and add a restaurant-type dishwasher to help me work more quickly--I swear I spend more time cleaning than soaping! I'm really exited. I'll take before and after pics.

Hehe, I wash all of my stuff by hand, in a bar sink! It only gets tough when the thing I'm washing is bigger than my sink!

my soaping area is in the (finished) attic so all my dishes are washed by hand in the tub because the sink way to tiny
