I have been adding 1% beeswax to my soaps lately
but I have a hard time melting it and keeping it melted I use the microwave. Beeswax needs to be very hot to melt! As soon as I add it to my liquid oils it cools and hardens- so frustrating!! I wanted to use cooler temps because lye water had cooled down but I had to try warming it a bit because my oils had to be warmer to melt the beeswax! Would it work better if I added the beeswax to another oil while melting? I melt my palm and coconut oils in the bags from BB so can't add it to those. I'm not sure adding beeswax is worth it!! What is your favorite way to add beeswax?

Add you beeswax to your oils and butters and gently melt it all on the stove. Microwave doesn't work well to melt beeswax.

I've been melting my beeswax on the stovetop on simmer. When it's melted, I pour it into my melted palm/coconut oils and mix well. If you need to heat some more at that point, you can. So far it has worked for me without remelting. Good luck!

Looks left and right... Uh, I add to oils and melt in microwave. Just be careful not to overheat.

Well, melting beeswax on top of the stove worked just fine last night, I don't know why I had had problems with it on top my stove a few weeks ago - must have had the burner on too low worrying about over-heating everything. I had to wait for my lye-water to cool and had to warm up my oils a bit so that they were close to the same but it all seemed to go good! The stove top was much better than the microwave, that's for sure!!

I'll see if I can post pictures correctly when all is out of the molds!
