I'm back again, with more questions!

I'm thinking about buying from TKB. Has anybody had any experience with these colors, and know how they hold up in soaps? I bought just a few sample micas, and som TD, but I'm wondering if this might be a better choice to start off with.

This may be a silly question, but I was wondering if you could mix to colors to make another (like blue + yellow = green) and if it would hold up in soap? Would you have to grind the colors together (like in a coffee grinder/mortar and pestle) or can you just stir them together?

Thanks! c:

I believe some of those will morph in CP soap, but should be fine for MP.

That's what I was afraid of. Is there a resource somewhere that lists what colors do and don't morph? Most of the reviews on TKB are about makeup and not soaping.

•titanium dioxide white will whiten your soap, but unless you are using white oils/butters and a non-discoloring fragrance, your soap might end up anywhere from light tan to brown.
•black oxide - I prefer activated charcoal as black oxide can bleed.
•brown oxide - fine for CP soap. Don't use too much or you will end up with brown bubbles
•orange oxide - I "think" this one should be fine.
•red oxide (red shade) - This one will end up as more of a coral pink.
•red oxide (blue shade) - Blue based red will give you blue based pinks.
•yellow oxide - Yellow oxide ends up as muted mustard yellow for me
•chromium oxide green - Works great in CP
•hydrated chromium oxide green - works great in CP
•pluot purple - depending what this is actually made from, your soap could end up gray.
•ultramarine blue - works great in CP
•ultramarine violet - Turned gray in my CP soap
•ultramarine pink - This one "should" be fine for CP soap. YMMV.

I hope that helps.

Yes, that definitely helps. I think I'll go ahead and buy it and just play around with colors. Thanks!

The orange oxide works great! There is some in your orange soda soap Irena  I've found their red oxide (red) to be a dark orange, and the red oxide (blue) is more of a burgandy red. I agree with the black oxide, its great for greys but to get black you will have a cloth staining, bleeding colour mess. I know from experience!

I'll be posting some cut soap pictures tomorrow, the orange in it is TKBs orange oxide, the yellow is their harvest yellow oxide and the red is their red oxide 170.

Here is a reference article. Scroll down and you will find the pigment paragraph.
