Teach Soap

I'm thinking of ordering these two FOs from BB to use for CP (Arabian Spice & Drakkar type).
Any "words of wisdom" to pass along before I use them?

The BB site says the Drakkar might discolor to a purple/muave. How do you use that to your advantage when making a soap you hope to market to men?

The Arabian Spice description mentions that it discolors to a medium brown. Sounds nice! Do you just use it "as-is" without additional coloring?

Finally......from your experience, do either of these tend to accelerate trace? Or misbehave in any other way?

I haven't used either one, but speaking from experience, anything with "spice" in the name or description can cause soap to overheat. So I wouldn't soap too hot and I wouldn't insulate my mold when using Arabian Spice.

I have used Ariabian spice several times. I get just a slight bit of acceleration but it was easy for me to work with (and when I first tried it I was very new to soap making). I have never colored it... just let it go to the medium brown naturally. I use it in my pumpkin soaps every fall and the color works just fine. I have added a touch of almond with this scent as well. I have never tried to gel this soap, usually leaving either uncovered on the counter or placed in the fridge. This scent is one of my top three favorites.

The other scent I have not tried.

I have never used either of these fragrances although I do use others who turn soap mauve or varying degrees of tans to browns.

My recommendation is also not to insulate. Just a note about the color. Some people do not like the brown marks this soap will make in the dish on the sink or wash rag (my husband being one), others do not mind as they love the fragrance so much.
