Where can I find a good scale? No frills, just need it to measure to .1gram (that's accurate enough for cp, right?) and be as cost efficient as possible.

I've looked and looked and I'm just seeing scales that say "we measure .1oz or 1gram" and I'm not sure if they're saying that is as little as it measures or if that's just giving the measurements.

I have an Escali scale from BrambleBerry and that one goes to 1 gram. If you need something that weighs smaller than that, I would suggest getting a jeweler's scale.

So, down to 1 gram is enough? It seems like everything I read says you need it to be accurate to 1/10 gram. Although, as I look at the BB lye calc, it's measuring in ounces, so maybe measuring that way will work.

Glad to help. If you are making small batches I would suggest you convert them to grams. More accurate that way.

I know there is less forgiveness with calculations the smaller the batch, but I just can't see throwing together 4lb+ batches for my first tries! The calculation I'm looking at (the lye) would be 3.507oz which is 99.412 grams. So, you're saying that 99grams of lye for this hypothetical recipe should be fine? (superfat at 7%)
