Hi all,

I am interested in making an organic soap(or mostly organic minus the lye!). . ..I can easily get the olive, palm and coconut but I don't have a source for organic almond or apricot or avocado oil. Does anyone have a suggestion for this? The only one I have found thus far is Mountain Rose Herbs (or something like that). .but they are somewhat expensive. Any ideas?

Lisa

Organic oils are expensive. You can also find some here: http://coloradoorganics.net/index.asp?P ... Category=2

Spotted Cat found me another supplier so know I am utterly confused. . what is the difference between organic and wildcrafted oils? I think wildcrafted may be a bit less expensive. I am so confused!

To me organic is certified organic. Wildcrafted is just that; harvested in nature, but not certified.

If the vendor is who I think it is they have some food grade, wildcrafted and organic products. Lisa, you might e-mail them and see if all of their organic products are certified. Some are listed as certified organic, some are not. Some are listed as "organically grown....." so they may be organically grown but not certified organic.

I also wanted to make an organic soap. I got my oils from www.bulknaturaloils.com or just google Jedwards International. They are certified and it was the best price I could find. They have almost every oil you could ever need. It was also local for me so shipping wasn't an issue. I am in Boston though, it might be expensive for you in CA.
