I was wondering - if I wanted to highlight some detail in my soaps with mica when would be the best time to do this:
As soon as they are out of the mold.

Half way through the cure

At the end of the cure.

Has anyone played around with this? And what is the best tool for applying the mica? I am thinking brush but maybe fingers would work better?

I've used mica as soon as the soap was cut. I didn't put mica on the whole log because my Tank would make colored smears on the sides. I have a little mini kabuki brush, but I bet any other brush would work just as well.

thanks Irena ! I poured these in individual silicone molds so as soon as I take them out will do the dusting. I am not giving up my kabuki brush for the soaps, but am sure I have a soft painting brush as I used to do ceramics and tend to save everything.

Make up brushes!! I got a pack from the local $2 shop so it wouldn't matter if I couldn't clean them enough and had to throw them out. But they work so well for dusting the tops!!
