Teach Soap

i am wondering what you guys think of soybean oil in soaps.. my bars i have used it in have been a nice decent lather, soft feeling on skin, and seem ok.. let me know your thoughts!

what does soybeen oil do for CP? it seems to be in alot of products these days

its cheap to buy and soft on the skin... i get 35 gallons for 19 bucks here lol

I take it that you can use it to replace some of the olive oil in your recipe. But the more you use the softer the bar??? So say maybe 10 to 20 %? of the amount of olive oil? If you we're running short of olive it would be a good thing to know.

Soybean will not replace olive. It's a soft oil and they have different SAP values.

Soapbuddy, If you use soybean oil what propertys do you use it for?

Soybean offers similar characteristics as tallow or lard soap. It's a vegan alternative to animal fats.

Is soybean oil prone to DOS?

but don't animal fats make for a hard bar of soap?

wouldn't you just use palm oil to make your bars hard?
