Hi everyone. I only used it as 28% of the batch, as I would do with lard or regular palm. It wouldn't trace with the lye only discounted by 6%. Plus I added almost 7% fragrance oil by mistake. :o I added a little pink clay and it is still an intense pumpkin orange, not a sunset color like I'd tried for. Not even a bit pink. Aside from the FO messup, is any of this normal?

I only use red palm oil in a small amount for color. 28% is a lot. You would get a bright orange from this much red palm. It could be that your batch didn't trace due to to high amount of fragrance. Adding pink clay to a red palm oil won't give you any pink as the orange will take over.

Sure did take over. I'm going to try and figure out how to post a photo here as a warning lol. It's a flaming orange and since I added goats milk will probably go a little golder. If anyone ever uses as much as I did, make it a carrot, mango or pumpkin scented batch. Not a garden scent, unless Bird of Paradise or Poppy or something. It finally did harden, though. Thank you so much Irena for your input! :)
