Hello!
I am new to soap making and to this site. My question is, can I pre-mix mica and store it? Also I made goats milk soap yesterday, and colored it with a green mica and today it's grey. I was reading other posts and someone else said the same thing. How do I get a true green? I have pretty much gotten a grip on other aspects of soap making, but the colors are hard for me to get right! HELP!

You could premix the mica in some glycerin or an oil with a long shelf life like olive or coconut. You would need to shake the bottle before each use. I don't premix. I use mica as needed and add it directly to my batch. Some green micas are not CP soap stable. Green oxide stays green.

It can also be grey because you didn't use enough. Most micas are used around 1 teaspoon PPO.
