Does any one know if you can add say half cp soap batter to half clear melt and pour to get a hybrid soap that doesn't weep and is more ethereal (translucent)? Or am I just throwing money away.

Thanks

They melt at different temps and cool off at different temps. CP soap will never be translucent, unless your recipe is specifically formulated as a glycerin soap. It's a very different process. Handmade glycerin soap tends to weep in humid conditions.

If you want clear soap, stick with a clear MP base. There is a low sweat clear base that you might want to try.

Well, tried combining hot process soap with clear melt and pour hoping for a soap that is a little less opaque. So i made a regular batch of hp and then added 8 oz. of clear melt and pour. While the soap is fine and with the mica I used it has a more metallic sheen to it than normal there is no translucency to it. So I don't recommend doing this as it is just a waste of melt and pour.
