Teach Soap

Hi,

Need Help please.

The soaps I make don't last longer in showers. Apart from that it becomes very soft after a few wash.

It there any particular ingredient I need to add to fix this.

I am planning to sell my creation and the above problem could really hamper the sale.

There are a lot of reasons this could be happening, but it would be helpful to know a few things.
What is your recipe? Are you using a lot of "soft" oils?
Are you allowing the soap to cure fully before using it?
Is the soap in a well drained soap dish and allowed to dry between uses?

I'm still new to soap making and seemed to have the same problem with my first batches of soap. I posted the question back in Feb 2016 under the subject line "CP soap re-retaining water?". The responses there give some good points to consider, however, what I found is that the soap dish in my shower wasn't draining as well as I thought. To test I purchased a wire mesh soap dish that attaches to the wall using a suction cup. For me, problem solved.

You are planning to sell your soap? Really? I think you should put that on the back burner, and take your time finding a recipe and techniques that are stable and reproducible. You need to know how your soap performs at 6 months and at a year. If making money on this is your goal, you may be sadly disappointed. Even good soap, well researched, made and tested, is not a path to quick cash.

Thanks for all the feedback. yeah for more than a year i am trying different recipes and have given to different people as a gift. The main complain would be is that the soap melts like wax after a few wash.

However I will take all ur feedback including ''starting the business".
