Hi,

I have been making cp for about a year, using whatever food coloring I had on hand just to be able to tell various formulas apart. I splurged and bought some blue jean blue from BB thinking I would make a beautiful blue soap. Not with olive oil. I got pea soup green. Any suggestions on a soap sans olive oil or is there a way to offset the lovely greenish yellow to actually make blue soap? The current green is
9 oz olive oil
6 oz each palm kernal flakes and coconut oil
1 oz castor oil

I like how thsi % ratio works for me but am willing to try something without olive oil if it will help me get by pretty blue.

Thanks
Alice

Food coloring is fine if you just want to play, but not for a soap for sale.
Olive oil that has a lot of green will be hard to color.
Try a lighter color olive oil, rice bran or calculate your recipe without the olive oil.
For a nice blue, I use ultramarine blue.
