I've never used rebatched soap before. If I use rebatched soap to make a soap. Can the cutie time be shortened if I use minimal water? I have an order to make 12 bars of soap and my regular soap recipe takes 4-6 weeks. I was thinking that using the Rebatch soap could decrease my curing time?

Thank you!

Ginger

You can use rebatched soap sooner, but I still would give it a couple of weeks to make sure the water evaporates.

Thanks! I just ordered my fragrance and I have to have the soap ready by 10-6-15. So I'm hoping it will be here by the 18th so I can make my soap. How much water do I add to the batch of it is approximately 45 oz. and would I need to add more lye? Like I said above. I know how to make cold process from scratch, but I've never rebatched.

This is the first soap I ever made and my first batch had WAY too much water in it. I used a recipe that was submitted by a customer to BB and for me it took about 3 months for the soap to harden. The second time I used a few T of water and it made a huge difference. Just remember that when you do it less is more. You might want to watch some videos on it and get a better idea. I did mine in a crock pot. It was not pretty but it was amazing soap.

Thanks guys for the advice! It is gratefully appreciated. Yet, I have another question. When you make 100% coconut soap with 20% super fat how soon do you cut it? 2 hrs after pour? 4 hrs? I've made it twice, while waiting until the next day and the corners crumble. Turning awesome soap into shambles.

I posted this note to BB when I finally got my recipe down right. I used their Luxury Rebatch soap with it and made it within a week of getting it.
After a bit of experimenting this recipe works well for me:

2 pounds grated rebatch
6 tablespoons distilled water

In the crockpot on low. Check every 30 minutes. Mine takes 1 1/2 hours but crockpots vary so check often. When it mixes well with a spoon, add your fragrance oil or essential oil and fold in quickly beating well. Pour into mold(s) as usual. This sets up very nicely and for me it can be used the next day.

Yes, Soap Buddy is right. It's not ever pourable. You have to glop it in the molds as best you can. Let it cool completely. No matter how tempted you are try not to add more water.
