Hello! Can anyone tell me what is the reason we are supposed to cover the soap after we poor it into the mold?

The cover helps to keep the warmth in.

Some people prefer to gel their soap and this helps speed up saponification.
I don't cover and I prefer not to gel. Either way, the soap still needs a full cure time.
It's a matter of personal preference.

How come you don't get soda ash on top of the soap if you don't cover it for the not go to gel purpose?

Lucky you. Soda ash is my constant battle. Would you share basis of your recipe that doesn't create soda ash or guide how to create or choose percentage of oils if it's matter? Thank you in advance.
