Hi
has anyone ever tried adding seasalt, brown sugar, or any other kind of "scrub" to their soap to make it like a "scrub bar"? I am thinking that maybe if I add it at the end, after I am done cooking it, and it's all processed, (I make HP soap)
I wonder if it would work, or just be really rough soap??

That would depend how much of the salt or sugar you add. Since soap contains water, some of it will dissolve. Sugar added at the end could make you soap sticky.
You can make a salt bar. Use your regular recipe and add 50% (of your oils and butters) as salt.

Add 50% salt. Do you mean like if your recipe calls for 20 oz oils and butters you instead use 10 oz oil/butter and 10 oz salt, or do you mean add 20 oz oils and butters, and add 10 oz salt?

About three months back I made soap and added 2 tbs of Dead Sea salt at trace to achieve specks kind of design. It came out very nice. After 8 weeks of curing I tried and I loved it even more. It felt like light scrub for my skin and dark navy soap has salt white specks through, looks really nice.
The problem I have that I still not able to pack and label it as the salt from inside still melts and leaks. I dry it with paper towel and after 2-3 weeks still notice new little wet vein of water on side of the curing soap. Does anyone experience this? What is the recommendation to avoid it?

.......Dead Sea Salt has moisture which tends to seep out of the soap. I would use a different type of salt....
What type of salt would you recommend? DO you think Epsom would work?

My 2ยข, I've used pumice and I've used coffee grounds. They both make a fairly abrasive soap. The coffee grounds one was excellent for taking the smell of onions off your fingers when chopping them.

Cheers,

Grant
