When making soap with heavy cream, is the water discounted in a 1:1 ratio for the cream?

Can standard grocery store heavy cream be used?

I would use minimum water required to dissolve the lye, then add the rest as the cream. Grocery store cream should be fine.

Should I add the cream to the dissolved lye water or at another point in time?

I would add the cream as soon as the oils and lye water are mixed.
