Teach Soap

Had a lot of fun with this one and the design came out looking pretty cool. But soap is now cracking. The recipe calls for
12oz OO
12oz CO
12oz palm
6oz aleo liquid Which I substituted with water
6oz water
I was able to cut it with in 7 hrs.it got hard very fast and I could almost see the ash form on it right away. It was a little crumbly when cutting. Now is starting to show cracksin the middle of edge s as it dries. What caused this the CO % to high? Soap is very hard now after 3 days.

How much did you superfat? Did you run the recipe through a lye calc?

It called for 5.2 oz if I remember right. What lye cal do toy recommand? Thanks again for your help.

I used a stick blender and yesbit vwas at a good trace.when I finished I put i n freg.for 7 hrs. Oil and lye were about 120 each.

No did not cook it.

Now that makes sense. If the soap didn't gel, it can get crumbly. I would lower your temps to about 110 (US) for next time.
