Ok, so I am officially obsessed with soaping. So, here is my latest idea. I want to make a layered soap bar that is salt s oap on one side scented with mint and or eucalyptus. The other side i would like like to be a rich creamy soap scented with ummm, lavendar or jasmine maybe sandlewood for the boys... how would I accomplish this? I realize this might take some sort of advanced techique that I don't know because I have made a grand total of two batches of soal in my life... help. Ok, must now go replace the stick mixer I killed yesterday making coffee soap...

The bottom layer need to be thick enough to support the layer on top.

That is what I thought. Is it just a process of getting a thick trace or should I look for recipes with certain oils? What kinds of oils would create a thick soap for the bottom layer?

You can use any cold process soap recipe that you like. It just needs to be at a thick trace, so it suspends the layer on top.

If one side is going to be salt soap, just put that soap on the bottom. That would be thick enough to hold up the other side. But if you have individual cavity molds, that would be even better since salt soap hardens quickly and by the time the other soap is hard enough to cut, the salt soap would be too hard to cut.
