Teach Soap

I would like to start using more mica's to color my soaps. I was looking on TKB's site and wowzers they have a lot of them. Unfortunatly they are not very good at stating how they hold up in CP soap. Can anyone recommend some tried and true ones from them? I am looking for of course some greens, blues, pinks, and purples.

They do have an area under soap where they tell you what ones do work.

Click the link below - it has their "Soap Stable" micas that don't fade in CP.


Micas don't add the same shimmer in CP that they do in MP - I find that they are not always the best way for me to get the color that I want.

I use quite a bit of TKB supplies - let me know if you have other questions.

I've used:
Gleaming gold, Copper Fine, Antique Silver and Sienna Fine with no problems. I am also still using some of their POP micas, but they stopped selling them awhile ago, so you can't get those.

Mostly I use other colorants in CP since the micas are just for color and not shine.

I do use some of their liquid colorants (in glycerin) but I have also been playing with Brambleberry's Labcolors and am starting to really like them for CP.

What are you wanting to do with the micas in CP?

I have used their neon colors and they're wonderful. Raging Raspberry is my favorite. I've combined their Raging Raspberry and Neon Blue for a beautiful purple shade.

Also used their Blackstar Blue as a black mica for soap but a little bit of this one goes a long way! Chromium Oxide Green and Seafoam Green are good too.

They do send their products in ziplock bags and not jars though, just to warn you, some folks may not like this. I like it because it saves on shipping!
