Hi all!

I was all set to order a sample set of neon colorants from BB when I noticed the description specifically says M&P soap and doesn't mention CP. And Crafter's Choice "neon brights" powders also reference MP but not CP.

Is there a collection of neon colorants that will work well in CP? I see CP soap photos that certainly look like neon colors were used, so I've been trying to find some that I can try.

Thanks in advance!

I've used all of the neon colorants from BB's sample pack in CP soap successfully. They come out fantastic. If you look through the Soap Queen TV videos, you'll see CP recipes that use these colorants so you can see the actual color.

They work great in CP for me but some require alot to get a decent color (especially Tangerine Wow! but it's worth it). They are happy dissolved in oils but glycerin will work too. Have fun playing with them!

I totally agree with the above responses.....the neons from BB were fantastic in my soaps. Tangerine Wow and Fizzy Lemonade are my faves. If you use the Fuchsia one, be sure to start very small with your measurement...a little bit goes a looooong way. [/color]

The neon colors work great! I agree with the fuschia, a little goes a long way.

Linda,

When I used the fuchsia on a batch I made a few weeks ago, I used 3/4 tsp for a 2 lb loaf.....it came out much more bold than Haven's picture and was really too much. (I personally liked how bold it was because I'm a sucker for neon colors but I figure most might have thought it was too much.) Next time I'm going to probably use 1/4 tsp or less and hopefully get it a little closer to Haven's.

I honestly don't know how much I used. I started with a heaping teaspoon of the fuschia, stirred and then added a small amount at a time to get the color I wanted. Now with that said, it does have a slight tint of pink to the lather. Not enough to stain a washcloth or make you feel like your bathing in cotton candy but a slight tinge of pink. I would stick with a teaspoon probably.

Thanks, Stacey & Haven. I'll definitely add more next time. I love it mixed with Ultramarine Blue to make purple. :D

tkb trading has a good range of neons. the purple is for hp only and the "lime" turns yellow so just augment with a bit of green oxide
