Sliced up my first batch and wondering if it turned out okay.

It stayed in the mold a bit more than 24hrs, and came out about 3 days ago. Seems to have a "rind" on the 3 sides that had direct contact with the mold.

Will it finish up okay?

Did you use freezer paper or something on it? Or was it truly "in direct contact" kwim?

I've gotten a rind when things got too hot...or so I've read....the one batch that did it WAS always discolored around the edge, but was fine to use.

Yeah, I used freezer paper. The rind effect is thicker on the bottom and sides where the mold is 3/4 in thick. The top was covered with a piece of cardboard and a folded towel.

I bet it will be fine. Give it some time.
If you used a discoloring fragrance, the rind could be from that. It should even up as the soap cures.

Thanks.

It's a 40-30-30 | Olive-Coconut-Palm base with Rosemary & Spearmint EO for the fragrance.

I'll let it be for a few weeks and see how it turns out.
