i have a couple of bars thats curing..i added FO jasmine and it started to seize the bars are fine i got them in the mold in time and everything but im not crazy about the way they smell now. can i cut them up in block and embbed them in new soap?..does soap that you want to embed with have to be very young or old or does it matter?

I have used all ages of soap as embeds without difficulty. I cannot say anything about whether the size is an issue with age though, as I have only shredded or made small balls/squares with my older soaps. I read somewhere that the larger the mass the more difficult it was to stick to the new soap when using older soap, but I have not seen that anywhere else since, and it was not someone I knew of. So maybe they are correct, maybe not. I haven't had an occasion to check the theory yet. :)

The smaller the pieces, the better they will stay. I noticed if I add embeds that are well cured to a new batch of soap, as the new soap cures and shrinks, some of the bigger pieces start to fall out, leaving holes in the cut soap.

Glad to know that Soap Buddy! I will keep that in mind if I use larger pieces!

I have never known any cp soap to melt in the batter. M&P soap pieces may, if they are too small.
