Teach Soap

Holy moly! I think I might want to try this. So it's just coconut oil, water and lye? No fragrance? I'll be buying a house this year and since that will leave me destitute (haha) I need to make whatever I can instead of buying. On my list to make and not buy is dish and laundry soap.

100% coconut with no superfat makes a good laundry or cleaning soap.

Do you all mix your shredded soap with washing soda and borax? Also, I'm guessing after you shred, you don't bother with curing?

I made some laundry soap just for myself last month and LOVE IT! I've been trying to track down bulk washing soda and borax. Soapgoods as three different types of Borax. http://www.soapgoods.com/advanced_searc ... ords=borax

Borax - Anhydrous (no water molecules), Borax - Decahydrate (10 molecules of water) and Borax - Granular.

Last time I just picked up some 10 Mule Team. I'm going to be making coconut/lard soap to grate into it.

Any idea which one of the different type Borax and Washing Soda listed is best and why?

Hello friends! I made CP laundry soap a few weeks ago and I'm loving it...

My question is how do you make dish soap from it? Do you just add water and it dissolves? Or is there some other way? Still fairly new at soapmaking, thanks for your help!
