Teach Soap

Hello,

I am a newbie with 6 batches of wonderful soap under my belt. I want to know if I can use Kaolin Clay as a fixative for (Rose) Geranium essential oil (middle note) to help the scent last longer. If yes, how much do I use per pound of oil ?

Also, I have read that I can use it to make my soap whiter but I am going cross eyed looking for information on the internet as to how much to use for both scenarios per pound of oil. (fixative and for color)

I have not had good luck with clay as a fixative. Geranium oil should stick in CP soap. Be aware that it can accelerate trace.
I would try 0.5 oz. PPO
I prefer titanium dioxide for a white soap.

Thanks. I don't have access to Titanium Oxide but will order some if I decide to break down and order online.

I used the Geranium and I do not like the smell at all. I now want to get rid of the smell. Can anyone think of a way other than waiting forever (or the garbage ... LOL).

I thought of rebacthing it with the hopes that the high temp will drive off the scent.

Yes.... Dioxide ! When I type my reply I can't see the original post and got it wrong. I can't get it either...LOL (Titanium Dioxide)
