I recently started making cp soap after not making it for ten yrs..my question is I'm having a hard time with the resizing batches. I have a 3# wooden mold and would like to formulate to fit that mold. Is there a calc that resizes batches? Thanks!

soap calc will resize your batch. I love that lye calculater. I find it very easy to use once you get used to it. It is cool because you can change up a recipe without losing all your recipe and having to start over. You put in your oil percentages and tell it how much you want to make and it will do the rest.

Thank you... I guess I'm having problems with the percentages then...I have found alot of recipes that are in ounces but wasn't sure how to convert them etc....

You can convert that in soapcalc.
Under the number 2, you'll see Pounds, Ounces and Grams. Click "ounces". Then under number 8, you'll see % and Ounces. Click the circle over ounces. When you have entered the recipe, click "calculate recipe". It will fill in the percentages. Then you can alter the amount and still have those same percentages.

I just notice that each section is numbered, and if you click the numbers, they give you tips!

Put in your current recipe. Hit the calculate button. On the next page hit the resize button. Simple.

Found it and figured it out..but when I want to change the batch size, i have a 3# mold, do I add that in total ounces of the oils? That would be to much wouldn't it?

Yes, 3 pounds of oil/fat plus the liquid (water/milk/whatever) plus the lye would be too much for your mold. You will see the total batter yield on the calculated view page whether you use Bramble Berry or Soap Calc. The oils you use in your recipe will determine how much lye is needed and if you use the Soap Calc, you can also adjust the <water> percentage on your initial recipe formulation page although they recommend 37% liquid to oil for beginners. Try starting with 2 lbs (32 ounces/907 grams) of oils/fats in your recipe and see where that gets you. You can adjust up or down from there and don't forget to calculate in the volume of your fragrance if you are going to use any. Good luck.
