Teach Soap

I've been lazy and mixed NaOH with 2KG of frozen milk before making soap.

After couple hours, I noticed some floating pieces of fat in the lye but I blended it with oil any way.

1. Am I being careless?
2. Should I mix NaOH with milk for the proper amount right before making each batch of soap?
3. How long can the lye made with milk last?

I, too, mix my milk/lye solution right before soaping. Otherwise the lye will saponify the fats that are in the milk.
