How does glycerin effect the quality of soap? Is there a % as a guideline?

Do you mean adding liquid glycerin to your CP soap? If so, it makes the soap softer. If you use too much, it makes your soap a big mushy mess. I once accidentally added a few ounces of vegetable glycerin to a 2 or 3 lb batch of soap and the soap only got to a very, very soft cream cheese hardness. Plus it kept sweating like crazy because the glycerin was drawing moisture from the air into the soap.

Otherwise, I only add it in when I'm using it to mix my colorants and I only use just enough to make my colorants liquid.

I don't add glycerin to CP soap. It makes its own.
