I ran out of freezer paper and can't find it any place around the town I live, will parchment paper work? It doesn't seem to have the wax like texture of the freezer paper!

I have never used it personally, but I have heard others say they did, so I am guessing it will work. It is more expensive though in my experience. I buy my freezer paper, a huge roll of Reynolds brand, at wallyworld and recently they moved it to the trash bag/paper plate isle. Since it used to be in the baking ingredients isle I thought they didn't have it and I asked someone. So are you sure the places you checked just don't have it in a section that you didn't think it would be?
Good luck!

I have been using parchment paper in a pringles can, has worked fine. Keeping in mind I'm new to soaping and have only made 3 batches of soap ever. I didn't want to buy freezer paper yet, because the only kind I can find is a huge roll of it that I would never use if soaping had turned out not to be for me, but I use parchment paper for a variety of things, so no problem for me. I couldn't say if it would work the same in other kinds of molds though. I have seen plastic grocery bags used also. It doesn't always leave the cleanest sides, but seems to be good in a pinch.

There is a difference between greaseproof and non stick though. I think the greaseproof is only available in some areas. What I have used is non stick parchment, I don't know if greaseproof would work.

I used baking parchment for a while when I couldn't find freezer paper. I get it at the dollar store. It works great! Reynolds parchment works better than the dollar store brand also -- NOTHING sticks to it. Not even tape. Creases just fine for folded liners for molds, and works wonderfully in tube-type molds.

In a pinch I have used a cut open zip lock bag. It works well. I've used garbage bags to line large molds also! LO: Molds lined like this of course I don't get anywhere near the oven!
