Teach Soap

Can someone please explain why people insulate soap, cover with towels, etc to reach gel? Why not pop it in a warm oven instead? Am I missing something?

It's a matter of personal preference. I don't gel my soap, so they go in the fridge or the freezer.

Thanks for the reply, why do you prefer non-gelled soap?

I like the smooth, creamy look. I can also use less fragrance. Colors stay lighter too.

And I always gel, I like the way the colors look, better to me, more vibrant. But, unless it is really cold in the house or I am using a decorative mold, I do not need to cover in order to get gel with my recipes. In fact, they will overheat and crack if I do cover/wrap them.
