Hi Everyone

I have just finished making my very first batch of soap...so exciting!!

The first batch I made was calendula and patchouli, it traced really fast but I was so happy how it turned out! I just have a question though, I decided not to Gel so put it straight into the freezer...how long do I leave it in the freezer for? it has firmed up nicely already. Also do I wait for 24 hours to un mold?

I leave my ungelled soaps in the fridge or the freezer; up to overnight. I let them come to room temp before cutting. It can take up the three days before ungelled soap stops zapping, so work carefully and wear gloves when you cut.

Solliss I just had the same problem with my second batch of soap. It was a coffee recipe that stared to overheat. Had very small cracks with what looked to be air bubbles just under the surface. I put it in the freezer over night and the next day took kit out and cut it that night. The batch was fine. The cracks were very minor and did not get any worse while in the freezer.

Coconut milk has natural sugars. So it can make your soap try to overheat. If it's slightly cracked on top, there's a good chance that the crack will close by itself, or will be minor if you let cool it off. This is why I put my milk soaps in the fridge or the freezer.
