Teach Soap

This may sound like a weird question but here goes. How can i get my soaps to really leave my hands
feeling soft or not that dry sticky feeling? The best way i can explain my question is to compare when i use
say a hotel soap vs. Say dove. Ive made 1 cp soap so far and 1 melt n pour plus i purchaeed a goat milk soap
from someone onoine and they all left that kind of dry sticky feeeling when i rinsed the soap off my hands.

Does anyine else know what i mean? Is it hecause other soaps bought commercially have detergents and other
additives?

Yeah, that silky feeling is residue! Clean, residue free, hands don't get that silky "just moisturized" feeling. You could up your superfat amount if you find your soap drying, that will help!

Adding silk or kaolin clay gives the soap itself a more silky feeling but still leaves your skin feeling clean. Try it and see if you are happier with your soap that way.

yep I agree with the kaolin clay and I use 2 teaspoons per kilo but also add honey or sugar. to compensate for this re the suds.

Do you have hard or soft water? That might have something to do with that too.

What a perfect question!!! I've been using my soaps for a while now, and I figured it was just something I had to get used to. I'll have to keep the silk or kaolin in mind for my next batch, well the one after that as I will have to order some.
