Embedding Objects in Soaps

step one

Make your objects to embed, following melt and pour instructions. Do not freeze them – let them dry naturally

step two

Cut them into the shapes you desire – or pop them out of their molds; if you wish to store them, make sure you store them in an airtight container since melt and pour has a high percentage of water in it and the water will evaporate out

step three

Melt your base; check your temperature – is it steaming? This is too hot. If you can’t stick your finger in without it burning, stir and wait for it to cool.

step four

Pour your base into the mold. Don’t fill all the way to the top (since you’ll be adding objects to embed).

step five

Spritz your embedding objects with alcohol (to cut down on the oils from your skin and to help adhesion) Spritz the top of your base in the mold with alcohol to cut down on surface tension

step six

Place your embedding objects into the mold.

step seven

Spritz the top of the soap for any excess air bubbles.
