Cherry Cheese Cake Soap by Missy Hodges, MI

step one

These are the cheesecake pieces after removing them from a Tupperware container and cutting into pie pieces. I made the crust with opaque soap and mixed in olive oil and cocoa powder. I poured a little in the container at a time and rolled it around the edges to make the back part of the crust. Once I felt that was thick enough I filled the bottom. Let that cool and mixed opaque soap, a little bit of yellow color and some vanilla scent with a few drops of lemon scent and filled to container to make the creamy part. I let that all cool.

step two

Now, the cherries were the problem. I couldn’t find anything in a mold that I could make cherries from. So my fiancé bought some polymer clay and we found a bouquet of Styrofoam cherries and leaves at JoAnn fabrics that he was able to make a mold from with the clay and them baked it. It took a while to make all the cherries but it was worth it. The cherries are opaque soap with olive oil, cherry scent and LOTS of red color. I just spritzed the tops of the pie pieces and laid the cherries on with a little bit of pressure.

step three

Next, I just put the pieces on waxed paper and spooned clear glycerin soap with cherry scent and LOTS of red color over the whole piece. I did spritz the whole piece (including the bottoms) with alcohol before spooning on the syrup. I let them cool completely and carefully removed them from the waxed paper to keep the syrup intact that flowed to the bottom.

Strawberry Soapcake

step one

The Strawberry Soapcake: I made the “sponge cake” with opaque glycerin soap, olive oil, and cornmeal. I put a few drops of yellow in it, and scented it with vanilla. I used a small round Tupperware container as the mold.

For the strawberry topping I used one of my daughters plastic strawberries and cut it into 4 pieces and turned them inside out and taped the open end, and molded opaque soap scented with strawberry scent. The “syrup” is just clear soap, with olive oil and strawberry scent. I filled the rest of the container with the “syrup” after the “cake” cooled some.

After that hardened a little I placed the strawberry on top and spooned the syrup over it all after placing in on waxed paper and spritzing it with alcohol.

And that is pretty much it. The only problem with making both the strawberry shortcake and the cherry cheesecake is that they made me VERY hungry!
